So 'bout them minor characters...
The Big Four are awesome, yes.
But let's throw out ideas for the rest of the cast! Any idea at all. It doesn't even have to be attached to any particular character yet. Just random silly thoughts and anything that we might be able to form story ideas out of are cool.
RANDOM THOUGHT:
Teaching Lila to swim! Narratively, it should probably be Arnold who teaches her, but I think it'd be kind of neat if it were someone else entirely. Especially someone unexpected, like Stinky or Sid or just someone who you don't usually associate with Lila.

Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
Silly, but Curly teaches Lila to swim! Hahaha. I don't remember there being much, if any, interaction between those two. XD
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
It would be cool to exploit Miriam-Suzie friendship somehow. I feel bad that it is not referenced anywhere.
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
Actually, it was referenced pretty briefly in the episode "Summer Love." They met some kind of salsa dancer or something when they all went to the beach. I remember in that episode, when Bob is very sunburned, Mariam is in a very good mood after a dancing lesson and tells Bob that she is meeting Suzie and the other guy to dance again.
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
No, I mean after this episode. It would be cool to have yet one link between the Sunset Arms and the Patakis' residence.
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
Yeah, maybe we could use that in another episode: Miriam and Suzie together in the boarding house, in the background.
Maybe Coach Wittenberg could be Lila's swimming teacher? He'd be mean at first, she learns nothing.. The day after she talks to Arnold about it, and he would talk to Coach Wittenberg. And of course, that works. But I think that might be a bit too boring, we should add something else to the story..

Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
Uhm, isn't Jack Wittenberg a boys-only coach? Probably it should be Tish Wittenberg, but I don't think she would be mean, she would be... well, different.
Sure I like the idea of teaching Lila how to swim. I mean, many girls in swimsuits... Sounds cool

Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
BTW, since Connie it looks like Connie has graduated now, we can re-introduce her as Tish's cousin.
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
There was a fanfic about Suzie taking care of Helga while her parents are not in the city. Maybe we should try something like this?
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
I´d love to see Dr. Bliss appear again, or at least to be mentioned^^
Actually,
As Olga and she are involved with children´s care( well, Olga is a teacher and Dr. Bliss is a children´s psychologist ), I could figure at least a situation with them( either together or not, like Olga mentioning Bliss, or someone else doing that )though that´s most unlikely - however, it jsut happens that both are two of my favorite characters... but, as usual, I´m suspect to say.
^^D

Maybe with them trying to set some kind of business?
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
Bridget and her secret organization
Their introduction into the movie hardly makes any sense. Bringing in spies solely to give Arnold and Gerald some instruments? I guess Bridget was invented to be used later in the series.

Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
I second your comments about Bridget. I would actually like to know more about her and her organization. And also, what about that weird scientist in the movie voiced by Christopher Lloyd? I kind of felt he came out of nowhere as well. XD
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
You mean the coroner. Yeah, when you bring in a new character, there should be a reason for that.
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
How about Rhonda's parents insisting that she has to go to a private school? I think it would interesting if she admitted that despite trying to be classy and snobbish she actually likes to attend a public school.
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
Look at Krossfire's profile page, there are many interesting ideas there. What you think about them?
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
How about a Sheena/Wolfgang episode? Sheena could confront Wolfgang on his bullying and they bond... What do you think?
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
Yeah, it's strange that we know about Sheena's aunt Shelley and her uncle Earl, but we don't know anything about Sheena herself.
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
And we don't know anything about Wolfgang besides the fact that he's a 5th grade bully.
Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
Yeah...it'd be interesting to learn more about Wolfgang
What lessons was it he was going to in New Bully on the Block?

A Sheena/Wolfgang bonding episode would be rad. :3

Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
1) Perhaps Suzie leaves Oskar and ends up at the Pataki house? And the episode is about Suzie trying to get Miriam to stand up to Bob more? And the B plot is Oskar's attempts to get her to come home. And eventually she's like: "Oh, Oskar. Of course I'm coming home. I'm just can't leave yet." Because she'll never actually leave him, even when he's the biggest asshole ever.
2) Olga should never meet Dr. Bliss. I actually don't think Arnold ever should either. What makes Dr. Bliss a good character is that she's Helga's, in a way. Helga confided in her, trusted her, having Bliss befriend Helga's stupid, perfect older sister (and LIKE Helga's stupid, perfect older sister) would kind of destroy that trust. It's the same with Arnold, if Helga found out Bliss was seeing Arnold for therapy sessions, Helga would flip out and clam up. She'd think Bliss was feeding Arnold information.
Admittedly, I would like to see Arnold at some point talk to someone - REALLY talk to someone - about his feelings on his parent's disappearance. I want him to admit that sometimes he just feels ANGRY at them. And he wants to hate them, but he can't because he loves them too much.
3) I'm down with eps for Bridget and the coroner. Although, I think an episode centering around the coroner might be annoying and horrifying at the same time.
4) I also dig Rhonda's private school episode idea.
5) Another note on the Sheena/Wolfgang potential episode: It's cool as long as people realize that Wolfgang is a dick. He's always going to be a dick. It is his major, defining character note. You might think for just a moment that he's going to do the right thing, but he never does.

Re: So 'bout them minor characters...
I am sorry, could you explain what English expressions like "I'm down with eps" and "I also dig" are supposed to mean? You like them, or you don't?
I support your thought that Dr. Bliss should remain exclusively Helga's. I like Darth Roden's writing, but I'm not very ecstatic about "Arnold on the Couch" BTW.
About Oskar being an asshole and Wolfgang being a dick: one of the trademark ideas of Hey Arnold is that there are no bad people. The behavior of people who look bad/selfish/cruel is caused by something. Everyone can be understood. Acting bad hurts the bad people more than anyone else. Everyone can be somehow convinced to do the right thing. This is Arnold's ideology, and it's supported by HA! writers. I'm sure that if Mr. Scheck was given an episode of his own, we would learn that he is not that bad too. Maybe it's naïve, but that's how Hey Arnold works.
