Posting Want Ads

Post by tendra91 on Sat Jul 04, 2009 7:59 pm

Each episode project will need the following roles filled before it can be submitted to a Director for approval (Descriptions of all other roles are available on the page "Be a Part of the Project!" of the HA6S Wordpress site.):

  • Group Leader (responsible for supervising entire progress of an episode project and submitting monthly progress reports to forum administrators)
  • Brainstormer
  • Script Writer
  • Thumbnail Artist
  • Penciller
  • Inker
  • Colourist
  • Background Artist
  • Clean-up Artist
  • Editors (minimum of 2)
  • Advertiser

Once a HA6S staff member (i.e. Writer) has a very good idea of what their episode storyline is going to be, they may submit their idea to this part of the forum so that it may be picked up by other interested staff members. This thread that they post will be known as a "Want Ad". The writer (who will presumably also be the Group Leader) will post a "want ad" in this part of the forum. The first post of each want ad must be in the standard format described here.

HA6S staff members get to choose which episode project(s) they want to work on. Directors will not be forcing them to work on episode projects that they have no interest in. When a "want ad" is posted, interested HA6S staff members ("applicants") who are willing to work on that episode project should reply to that Group Leader's ad. If the Group Leader and applicant agree to work together, then they have just formed part of that episode project's group. The process will repeat for other applicants until all required roles for an episode project are filled. When an episode project has enough HA6S staff members to work on it, they can then go to the "Proposed Episodes" sub-forum to submit their tentative episode project to the Directors for approval.

If the case should ever arise where no one responds to a "want ad", and an episode project is left with an insuffient number of interested staff members to work on it, then the Group Leader may want to consider revising or dropping the episode project. Keep in mind that episode projects cannot be approved until it has enough interested HA6S staff members who are willing to work on it. Hence, it is ultimately the HA6S staff members who decide which episode projects get approved.

HA6S staff members may also post "want ads" in this part of the forum to form groups for one-shot (gag) comics.
