That definitely sounds like a good idea.
That actually was intentional. The idea was to show the audience that we haven't changed things around too much, but we aren't doing everything exactly the same, either. ... I think we want to try to convey that what the audience has "never seen before" is a 6th season of HA! in comic form, as clearly as possible.
Okay, I was just making sure whether or not it was intentional or not. I get what you're saying. To make it less confusing, I would probably try to take on less of a serious tone in the trailer, or even play around with how you insert your pausing.
E.g. Instead of saying "like you've never seen it before", say "like you... *never* seen it before" to make it more jokish?
I'll be fine with whatever screenshot you put in.
Here's the big question: Do we want to just use the screen shots (of Big Caesar, Helga through glass, and Arnold's big smile) in the trailer, or do we want to actually use artists renditions of them? I have no problem using the screen shots in the video, but do you think that it would be inconsistent to have a bunch of screen shots and your rendition of Pigeon Man in the middle? And probably more importantly, do you (or anyone else) have the time/motivation to do renditions of 3 more screenshots?
Like I said, I think it looks fine, but I'd like to know what you think too Tendra (or anyone else lol)
It's already inconsistent when we have screenshots in the beginning and fanart w/ the rest of the trailer. I don't mind doing the other 3. I already did a sketchy version of Big Caesar which you can find here:
I'll repost the image again with some simple graystyle watercolor shading and let you pick which of the 2 you guys like better.
I generally can finish lineart pretty quickly (Big Caesar was done in 2 hrs). It's just coloring that takes hell of a lot of time (Pigeon Man took about like... 6 hrs?). Simple shading should take long though.
I plan to do "Love at First Sight" with crayons (and maybe a touch of watercolor) in differing shades of red. We'll see how that goes.
I'm not sure what style you guys want me to do "and a Football-Shaped Head" in. So propose and I can probably stick it up (except acrylic. I've got no acrylic paint whatsoever.)

I think the 10 uploads were up (sorry I couldn't post earlier; I'm trying to switch my Internet provider service thingy XP), so I can't see the trailer. Could you email it to me?
Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
So you mean I should use a sarcastic kind of tone here, right? I like that idea. I'll try it.tendra91 wrote:E.g. Instead of saying "like you've never seen it before", say "like you... *never* seen it before" to make it more jokish?
It's not necessarily inconsistent. As long as there's some kind of pattern going on (in our case it would be all screenshots at the beginning, and all fanart at the end). But, I'm glad you're going to do the other 3.tendra91 wrote:It's already inconsistent when we have screenshots in the beginning and fanart w/ the rest of the trailer. I don't mind doing the other 3.
I'll let everyone else propose what style you should do for "and a football shaped head" because I have no idea lol (or you can just do it however you want.)
Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
I think you should lower the volume of the song a bit 'cause at the begining all I heard was (somethin' somesomesome'thin ) end.
Other than that its perfect!
Hope you finish it!

Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
Thanks, Tendra. I really like the shaded version, so I think I'll use that one.
Yes, I noticed that it was hard to hear the narration in some places too. I think what I'll do instead of lowering the volume of the song is I'll try to speak much louder (and maybe closer into the mic). It's because when I turn the volume of the music down, there is some hissing from my microphone that becomes very obvious. The music really helps to cover up the hissing. Thanks for pointing that out, though.peachcake21 wrote:I think you should lower the volume of the song a bit 'cause at the begining all I heard was (somethin' somesomesome'thin ) end.
Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
Tendra, I just thought of something that I forgot to ask you. Who edited the script for the first episode? I still need to replace the question marks with their names in the trailer's credits.
Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
lol Geez, listing an editor for the script is a hard one... I'm not sure if there's really an "official editor" yet because the script isn't finished, so I would take the "Editor" credit out altogether until we do get an official editor. There have been several brainstormers contributing to the story, however, but that's a long list.
But this also reminds me: Can you put down ElegantVamp as one of the writers for the pilot episode? She helped me with the script a bit.
Also, I changed the screenshot for "Love at First Site" from the one Helga squishing against the glass door to the one where Arnold shares his umbrella with her. Yeah, sorry, I felt that one was more appropriate b/c it had a more serious tone to it (i.e. "love sweet" instead of "love funny") because the funny part is supposed to be "and a football shaped head" with everything in front of it relatively serious.
So here it is:
And I colored it a bit more for the second version:
You can pick whichever of the two you like best. Or if you want me to draw the original screenshot, I don't mind. Toddler Helga is cute.

Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
Sure, I put ElegantVamp's name in the credits just now so I wouldn't forget. I also took out the editors.
You're absolutely right, I like the "love sweet" version much better. Thanks!

Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
Ok, I'm having a little bit of trouble with both rapid share and megaupload, so I just uploaded the latest version of the video to esnips for now. Here's the link where you can stream it: http://www.esnips.com/doc/8bcfc40b-1bed-47ef-ab6c-9ff935e83930/Trailer-with-narration-mic-2-v6
I didn't make any changes to this version other than adding in the new pieces that Tendra made.
Silencer13 has volunteered to help out with some artwork as well, so that's the main reason I reuploaded the trailer...so that he could see what it looks like so far.
So, things left to do:
Sorry, this post is kind of confusing. If anyone has any questions, please let me know.

Silencer13 has volunteered to help out with some artwork as well, so that's the main reason I reuploaded the trailer...so that he could see what it looks like so far.
So, things left to do:
- Tendra is working on the piece with Arnold smiling at "And a football shaped head" (about 0:23)
- Lyxy has volunteered to work on the other two missing pieces in the trailer (about 0:44 and 1:12). I think the beginning of the trailer is essentially done (other than the last piece by Tendra). I haven't heard back from Lyxy about what she has planned for these two missing time slots for about a week, so I don't know exactly what she has planned. (Lyxy, when you have a minute, could you write a short post saying what you have planned for those two times?)
- Silencer13, depending on what you're comfortable doing there are a couple different options. (1) You can try to collaborate with Lyxy (depending on how far along she is on the art pieces already...and what she has planned), or (2) you can work by yourself and come up with something that would look good either in the middle, or somewhere toward the end (around 0:44 and 1:12). I'm sure we'll have enough time in the video (after I get through editing) for 2 additional fanart pieces (and if we don't, we can always save it for the next trailer or a future advertisement). If you want to work on something by yourself, just give us an idea of what you plan on doing before you start, so that it doesn't clash with what Lyxy or Tendra are putting together right now.

Re: Trailer Script/Artwork

Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
That would be great. I'm completely fine with black and white pieces in the trailers...and in the HA6S advertisements in general. Also, sometimes one of the other artists might decide that they want to color it for you.
Also, before I forget to ask, how would you like your name to appear in the trailer's credits? Silencer13 or something else?

Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
I think it's fine as far a copyrights go. It's a couple of quick audio-only clips less than 10 seconds long...it should fall under fair use.
It looks good, and it's probably something that we could use sometime in the future. The only thing I noticed is that the resolution seems kind of low. Do you have any way to make the text and the logos at the end appear less "pixelated"?

Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
yeah i could fix it......... but i just did it so the file wouldn't be so large..... if you have a divx codec........as well as everyone else..... it would look good and be small, file size wise. how big do you want the resolution?

Re: Trailer Script/Artwork
Yes, I do have the divx codec. I wouldn't worry too much about the file size. Gmail can transfer files as large as 20 MB...and something like rapid share can transfer files >100 MB.
Generally, I like to have the resolution as high as possible. So, I would try to improve the resolution, but also keep the screen size big enough so that you can read the text.
