Helga, Gerald and bonding
Just gonna throw the idea out there if anyone would like to roll with it, but I would LOOOOOOOOVE an episode that's all about Helga and Gerald and them having to work together on something. Especially since this will be after the movie and before the Jungle Movie. I think they kind of need to come to terms with one another, especially if Gerald seems pretty okay with Arnold/Helga in the second movie.

I think that's a great idea!!
Not as the first or second episode, but later on in the season..
Kinda like the one in which Helga and Harold miss the bus (what was it's name? Buses, bikes and subways?), and eventually they find their way to the wrestling match by working together.. kinda.. We could use a similar plotline for Helga and Gerald, they start off as almost enemies, but end up as.. well not friends, but closer then before ^^

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
Are we actually going to try and do this as like a genuine season with our own sort of timeline or are gonna make it more of a free-for-all of ideas and plots, picking up the ones we really like and not really caring if the timeline of events is logical or anything?

I was thinking about Helga and Gerald moments in context of my House Swapping idea.

I definitely agree with the Helga and Gerald bonding idea. That would be a great episode to make

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
hehe. Nice idea. It be fun to see how these two react to one another xD Btw, you know the fanfic for 'Tutoring Arnold' (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3648923/1/Tutoring_Arnold) ? But the problem was:
'However, the problem with this idea (thanks to Nat for the criticism) is that you have to keep in mind that although Helga is capable of being a very bright student, so is Arnold. After all, Arnold must have some talent in English given the fact that he was one of the top spellers in the 4th grade. Plus, if you have read some of the online interviews with Craig Bartlett, you will recall that Bartlett has said that one of Arnold’s essays wins his class a trip to the jungle where his parents are in “The Jungle Movieâ€. In addition to that, Arnold should be relatively good at Social Studies since he is practically the “god of diplomacyâ€, good at Math because he tutored Torvald, and good at science seeing his work ethic was in the episode “Biosquareâ€.'
What if Helga had to tutor Gerald? That'd be pretty interesting.
Sorry if you hate the idea though ;x

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
I'd love to see Helga tutoring Gerald...
Hey, what about Gerald finding out the secret before Arnold and Helga get together? Maybe he has to go to Helga's and finds some of her poetry books and puts two and two together?
Would Gerald spill (and find out Arnold already knows) or would he keep it a secret?

That would be interesting indeed
We all know a lot of people know Helga's secret.. Lila, Phoebe, Mr. Simmons, Big Patty, Stinky?, and I think even Grandpa knows.. So I guess it would be possible to let Gerald find out, and indeed keep it a secret, even from Arnold maybe? That way it won't change anything for the new episodes or the movie.

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
I am afraid that Gerald learning Helga's secret would violate the rules. No episode should drastically change the relations between the characters. Would Gerald be able to act the same towards Helga, if he learned her Big Darkest Secret? He may get a hint, but not the whole picture.

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
Well, if gerald did know about Helga's secret, he could help with the whole Arnold/Helga thing. Hint to him that Helga loves him and what she said on the FTi building was SO NOT THE FREAKING HEAT OF THE MOMENT!!! And of course it will affect 'The Jungle Movie' when Gerald interupts their kiss (well, it's either a good or bad thing depending on your view.) But, yea, I honestly think that Gerald knew it but rather not tell Helga he knows. maybe find out through phoebe or something.

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
If Gerald knew Helga's big secret, he would tell Arnold:
"Stay away from Helga!"
"Why?!"
"Trust me, you don't wanna know why! She's nuts, just stay away from her!"

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
I'm with Hellerick. Gerald knowing would change the whole show. Especially if he knew how deep her obsession ran. Gerald isn't Arnold and would probably be incredibly freaked out no matter what Helga said to make him think it wasn't so weird.
I always imagined that the reason Gerald reacts somewhat positively to their kiss in the Jungle Movie is because:
a) By that point he's sort of okay with Helga. She's helped them more times than he really knows, after all.
b) He's kind of suspected it anyway. At least on Arnold's side. The dude sometimes seems to get really fixated on Helga and Her Problems for short periods of time and Gerald NOTICES.
I wouldn't mind having Helga tutor Gerald, but I also don't know if Simmons would ever LET her be a tutor. The point of a tutor is that they're kind and helpful so that you can learn. Phoebe would be much better at that, especially when it comes to Gerald.
(that would actually make a pretty okay Phoebe/Gerald episode)

A learning oppurtunity perhaps? They could learn a little bit more about each other.

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
I don't want Phoebe to tutor Gerald, because we could find a better student for her. E.g. Harold. She could test her pedagogic theories on him. Like inventing a system of encouragements ("You haven't eaten for three hour already, right?" Harold gulps. Phoebe says seductively: "Hey look, this Mr Fudgie bar looks very tasty. What would you do for it?"), and supporting his self-esteem (through faking his good results).

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
What about Gerald figuring out the secret, and the Helga spending the whole episode hatching a plan to fool Gerald. By the end of the episode he could be back to thinking that Helga hates Arnold, but could have bonded with her somewhat.
And Hellerick, as for drastically changing the relationships between characters...angling towards Helga and Arnold getting together is *far* more drastic...And Helga hates Lila as much as Gerald hates Helga, and it didn't change the show once Lila knew

Re: Helga, Gerald and bonding
Lila knowing Helga's secret did not change the show because she "always suspected that" anyway. It is not the case for Gerald.
