Post by funnybones021 Mon Mar 08, 2010 6:29 am

Hi everybody!

I was just wondering how everyone is doing right now. The HA6S project seems to have it's ups and downs, where there will be a whole buzz of activity for a while, and then it will be pretty dead for a while. There's nothing wrong with that (in my opinion) and it's something I had always expected. But I thought that I would make sure that everyone is still feeling good about the project. Or is there something you'd like to see changed? Anything else you want to get off your chest lol?

Here's how I'm feeling:
I think the project is going great, even though it seems to be moving slowly. I'm nervous that the first comic won't be done by October. I'm worried that some of the artists are starting to feel burned out.
Despite these worries, I'm really excited that this project seems to be moving forward. I think Tendra said it best when she said that any episode after one would be like icing on the cake. I'm really happy to see that we seem to get new people joining the project all the time...and that people are starting to propose new episodes. I know it can be frustrating to find all your staff members, but don't give up Razz
It's awesome that we've helped to rekindle some people's love for HA! (if you haven't been to the HA6S facebook page recently, check it out, it's ballooned to over 200 fans within the past few weeks).

So, overall I'm really excited to see where this project will be going within the next few months. I haven't been logging on very frequently for a couple of reasons: I had a bit of a medical scare recently...and I just found out that it's not as bad as it could have been. So, if my post seems perkier than usual, it's because I am perkier than usual and I've been perky all weekend Razz
The other reason is just because I've had a very hectic schedule lately. It's almost finals week for me, I have a big conference that I have to go to soon, and, of course, I'm going to be graduating college in a few months. Despite that stuff, I'm sure that I'll still find plenty of free time to work on HA6S stuff.

So, how is everybody else feeling?

Oh, and say high to Abner pig
(lol, I never saw that little pig before.)

Hi Abner XD

It's going slowly, but at least the project's still moving..
Last year there were SO many HA! fans around, but since summer break most of them disappeared one by one unfortunately..
But, there are also some new artists on DA Smile

I have to admit I can't really sit down for a few days and draw comics all day anymore, I don't know why.. so I'm still working on page 7 (for like 2 months now >< ) (page 6 is done though, but I haven't posted it yet) *ducks under table*

BUT
I'm drawing another comic (just a story I made up, nothing HA! related), and I already bought watercolor and special paper and stuff, to color the backgrounds.. and most of them will be suitable for the HA! comics as well Very Happy So maybe that'll get us a little further.

I'm not gonna give up on the sixth season project, that's for sure!!
But you're right, I'm not sure if we'll be able to finish the first comic by october, at this rate..

Hi Abner =P

Courage for your finals and I hope everything is going to be fine for your health ^^

I'm only on the team for... not much but I can assure you I'm not going to leave this place that soon =) The Ep3 will be done!
I really wanted to join the Staff of Ep4 as well but I'm in my last high school year ( I think americans call it "Senior years"? ), we have the final exams in 4 months, I have everything we learned since September to memorize, college apps letters to make, art class projects to finish, my RP forum to run and few personal projects ( illustrations, stories, comics, etc... ) to take care of... so yeah. Busy, busy, stressed and anxious xD...

But as I said, I'm not leaving, I'm just working at the speed of the snails X_X...

But in fact, I was wondering, do we absolutely need to respect the order? For example, if the staff of Ep... I don't know 2 or 4 (I really don't know, it's only an example) has finished the project before 1 or 3 (or 2), they could submit it before the others ='... I mean, that could happen.

Good to hear! And who knows, maybe things will pick up a little bit over the summer. Question

Pie01 wrote:Courage for your finals and I hope everything is going to be fine for your health ^^
Thanks Smile My health is doing fine; I just found out that I have a disorder called essential tremor, which causes my hands to shake when I hold them against gravity, or I hold a cup of water, or I'm using fine motor skills, etc. My case is relatively mild, so it's not dangerous...it's just a bit of an inconvenience and I'll admit it can be embarrassing sometimes too; but I'm thankful it isn't something worse. Most of the time it's not even that noticeable.

I wish you well on your college hunt and your final exams and all of those other projects. It's good to hear no one is planning on leaving HA6S Razz

My feeling is that if (for example) episode 4 is finished before episode 3; and episode 3 isn't anywhere close to being finished, then there shouldn't be a problem in rearranging the order. Obviously, we're a long way away from being finished; and we will need to consider that some plots might make more sense coming later on than others. But, overall, I don't think anyone would have a problem with rearranging the order as long as we don't severely mess up the timeline. We'll just have to take everything on a case-by-case basis.

Roar! (Hi Abner! Oink!) I'm alive as well!

Yup, I also noticed the up and down rollercoaster that this project has been on. I've been expecting that as well, considering that we all got lives outside this project and many of us seem to be hitting milestones (e.g. almost graduating, entering new schools, new jobs, ect.)

I'm in my first year of university, so I'm also adapting to new changes (but changes are always coming at you, amirite? lol) But I'm hanging in there! Smile

I admit that I'm a little worried that we won't get the first episode by its due date, but then again, I'm not too sure. Maybe we'll do a final push in the summer break, maybe we won't. My thinking is, "We'll see how that goes". It'd be awesome if we could get it out by Oct 7, but it's not a make or break deal. I have no problem with pushing it back.

I do think we've done a lot with this project since we first started though. We've made some beautiful comic pages out there, got our first trailer, and I see the excitement and energy coming off of the people who are in this group, are new to this project, or have just heard of us. I do see word of us spreading around, and I think it's great. It truly gives me hope that we'll get something out of this project.

However, I do see some of getting tired, or on the brink of burning out. A lot of us have our own problems that we have to deal with, and I say, "That's perfectly okay". Deal with those first, because like I say to anyone to talks to me, real life is more important.

Like I said earlier, I've got schoolwork to deal with, and I still need to plan in terms of where my education is going to go. But Hey Arnold is still running through my head. I do check this site and other HA! sites every once a while (at least every other day), so I'm here, even though you might not see me say or post anything. I know I've been incredibly behind with the announcements, and my bad. The Announcements sub-forum is free for anyone to post in it, so if you feel like you have something important to say, go ahead and write in it. You don't need my approval. This is a collaborative project, so feel free to take the initiative for something anytime.

Annemiek: That sounds great about your other comic! Please let us know how it goes! Very Happy
Funnybones: Hope everything goes well with your health! Thanks for letting us know!
Pie01: Yes! Planning for your secondary education is important! Give some real thought into it! Smile

As for the order of the episodes, they don't really matter. We just label them 1, 2, 3 ect. as production numbers. So the order that we "air" them isn't a very big deal. We're at the very beginning of this project anyway, so our "previous episodes" (that haven't been made yet) shouldn't make a big impact on our current episodes that we have (because we don't have any big influencing season 6 episodes yet lol) So don't worry about order.

I'm still around too, though I'm lacking in... well, just about everything: Sleep, food, time, inspiration. Some of the concerns others have voiced apply to me, mostly university stuff and finals. My next goal is to re-write the ending to 'Potty Mouth,' then I'll take a look at adopting one of the other ideas that are still rolling around the general discussion forum (all while helping Elegantvamp out with 'New Girl in Town,' of course!)

On a random note, I've been hearing more people on campus reminiscing about Hey Arnold! and other old Nick shows recently. A good sign?

Thanks Tendra Smile It's just something I'll have to live with; other than that I'm in perfect health. It actually feels good to get it off my chest...I haven't even told my own family yet Shocked

Speaking of "word spreading around", take a look at what I found: http://queplanetageneroso.wordpress.com/2010/03/04/hey-arnold-proyecto-de-sexta-temporada-fanmade/

We're blog material now! Very Happy

That blog is in Spanish, and my Spanish is no bueno. Would anyone be able to translate it? I'd really like to read that.

Oh, and I would agree, Quixotic_aims, that is a good sign.

That is awesome about the blog! ...I wish I'd paid better attention in Spanish and could read it a lot better (or I'm even dumber than I thought and it's not even Spanish...>.<)

Things like this always have their up or downs. I'm trying to get more staff together before I start the script because I think I will have a melt down if I finish the script and can't find an artist. I can be a *little* over sensitive.

Huh, I'd never heard of that particular condition before. What exactly where the signs? I shake sometimes (and yes, it has been commented on by people) especially while doing things like playing the wii if I have to hold the controller straight up. My arm shakes like crazy.

lol, hey I thought it was in Spanish...so if it's not I'm dumb too XD
j/k j/k

For me the symptoms are shaking mostly in my hands (there's actually also a very slight tremor in my head) when I hold them against gravity or I'm holding something in my hand. So, my most severe tremors are usually when I'm holding a cup filled with water or something. It's usually bad enough that I spill it all over the place. Or my hands also shake when I give money to a cashier at the store. I'm frequently asked by cashiers if I'm okay, or a few times, "when was the last time you had something to eat?" lol, that's usually when it's kind of embarrassing to explain my situation to them and I hate holding up the line. There's no shaking when my hands are at rest. My symptoms are relatively mild, but this is usually a progressive neurological disorder; meaning that it's expected to get worse over time. Fortunately, for me it's expected to be a very slow progression (based on family history...there is a major genetic component).
Here's a fairly good FAQ section that has some info about it in case I didn't answer your question...sorry, I can really only tell you from my own experience. I really don't mind talking about it, though, so if you do have any other questions feel free to ask Smile

Nope, not yet. I have one final on Monday afternoon and another one on Tuesday morning; and that's it. Then I have to spend the rest of the week trying to print out a big poster from Adobe Illustrator, which is kind of a pain sometimes...or all the time really.

haha, It probably depends on the college. Usually my finals are spread out over the week a little bit more, but this term I get them all over with at the beginning of the week. I don't mind the Monday final since it doesn't start until 3:00 in the afternoon.

I'm good. I have an essay (which I am avoiding right now) and a final on Wednesday. It's late at night from 7:30-10:30, that just seems weird to me. Why so late? i could start my vacation early, but no, I have to wait to take the stupid final. lol Oh well. The form has been quiet recently, but I guess that's to be expected. It will probably pick back up after finals.

Oh man, I haven't been on in ages. I apologize. I've been swamped with college work and my part time job (we just lost a supervisor, so I'm getting more hours than I would like :/ but I shouldn't complain, since I'm getting paid). Life is as busy as ever on this end.

It's nice to see that everyone is doing well though, and that the project is progressing. :] Seems like there were a lot of additions since I last checked, too, so that's awesome! Hope life goes easy on everyone.

Ahhhh... I can't wait until the summer.
