"Graduation" ("Second to Last" Episode) Empty "Graduation" ("Second to Last" Episode)

I know it's WAY EARLY to be thinking about the last comic of the series but I don't think it would hurt to plan ahead.

I was thinking along the lines of the kids of PS 118 graduating and making plans to go to junior high. The only problem is that there are different high schools around the area and all have there own specialist subjects.

The school learns that it is to close and that the fifth grade (Arnold's class) will be the last to fully graduate from PS 118. During this time, heavy construction work is going on around the school.

Arnold, Helga, Sid, Rhonda and Eugene want go to a high school for Art and Music while Gerald, Harold, Stinky, Phoebe and Sheena would rather go to a high school for Sports and Technology. Pretty much pulling friendships apart.

To make things worse, they all have to organise their last school dance together and they can't agree on that either.
After a fight, they realise that this will be their last night together and are all upset about it. So they all pull together and sort the last party out.

The dance is a success. Though they all assume that this is going to be the end of an era, but Principal Wartz announces that while the school is closing, it is being replaced by a multi-purpose public high school. Meaning that they can all stay here and not have to attend different schools!

When graduation day arrives, everyone is happy that they graduated and are still going to be together in "Public High School 118".

Again, this is still "work on progress" so any early suggestions would be helpful at this point.

I think this would be an interesting episode, but probably not the final episode of the 6th season. I think the last episode of our comic should do more to set up for The Jungle Movie. The Journal did a lot of setup, but I think there are still some holes we could fill and help refresh everyone's memories.

I think this would be an interesting conflict to work with, though. Especially for Arnold. I think Arnold is kind of a Renaissance man. He likes a little bit of everything; art, science, sports, and music. So I would see him being especially torn over which school to go to.

I really like the idea of everyone being reluctant to split up-- sure, everyone may not get along sometimes, but it's obvious they're all a team. Even the girls participate when they all play sports together! XD So I think it would be really sweet if we saw some bittersweetness at having to split up the group. And then the relief and joy when they discover that they don't need to split up after all. It sounds so heartwarming <3 ^_^

Then should we say second to last? Then have the TJM lead-in as the last comic. We really want to put this idea off for as long as possible because I want this to be the best out of all the episode ideas I come up with. However, I'm still chewing over bits of the story and for me that takes a while.
