Maybe Helga dreams about the pressure of finding a new hobby, and Arnold keeps coming into them. (i.e. she's attempting to paint, and paints Arnold; she's playing the tuba, and it keeps sounding like his voice... and then Arnold jumps out of the painting or tuba and talks to her...?) xD

I like the paintting one! Meybe earlier she's painting and she can only paint footballs shaped figures? XD
So then in her dream Arnold comes out?

And for the tuba, that's interesting, in one of the clay animations of Arnold she's playing the tuba XD

Okay... so as an extreme Helga-fan, I have to give my opinion on this one, lol.

Personally, I feel that the whole idea of the gang finding out about her obsession and kinda badgering her about it, is heading further away from Craig's vision for where the series might go, and more towards preteen fanfiction.

It doesn't seem like anyone really cares what Helga does in her private little love-verse sessions... of course Arnold walking in on them is always horrifying to her, but as for the other kids, I really think they could care less. And, considering, several of the girls at PS 118 already know about Helga's secret, I don't think it would be that much of a shock if the rest of the class actually found out eventually.
I believe that even Craig said in on of his chats, that at one point the gang would find out about Arnold and Helga, and they'd be like 'Yeah... so?'.
As far as her parents are concerned... Miriam tried to burn all her poetry books once (or twice?), so she doesn't seem like she really cares. And Bob, has walked in on her doing an Arnold 'tribal dance', among other things, and basically blew it off "I'm not even going to ask."

I like the idea of Helga trying to remove herself a bit from her obsession with Arnold, trying to find other hobbies... but, it would have to be altered quite a bit so that we wouldn't simply be doing another Helga's Love Potion. Perhaps if we made it different... not that she was trying to be RID of Arnold, and instead that she was simply trying to distance herself a little bit (but failing miserably), perhaps even, as you said, with Phoebe's help.

Well they dont really find out they just stumble upon her but dont hear much. . .
Well, I cant really think of why she would distance herself from Arnold exept to protect her secret

(Sorry, late) I love the episode idea!
I find the idea Arnold's out of town working.
So...possibly the situation could develope slowly in stages.
1) Helga could go quite tired 'cause days become dull.
2) Cause she doesn't release her love she feels shaken and need to look at a locket more often than usually.
3) She becomes exhausted. She thinks everybody sees how she misses Arnold. (The hole panel show Helga frightned sitting at the desk. Next image show class bored).
4) She's so frustrated that she becomes too clumsy and listless.
5) Phoebe notices it and talks.
6) Phoebe tries to find Helga hobby she could like.

Hmmm, so Arnold leaves for whatever reason, she's first kind of okay (for 2 seconds!) then she gets sorta depressed, Pheobe talks to her about getting a hobby, and Helga tries like 1,000 activities.

Yep.

Where would Arnold go? I guess visiting Arnie was kinda already taken, even if it was just a dream xD

Any other relatives mentioned? Friends that moved away? Something?
