We're bound to get members who join, but aren't sure what to do, so I think it might be a good idea to make some sort of official 'Getting Started' topic. Something that tells them about the project and points out where they can help out, and where their help is most needed.
I'm typing this on my Wii right now, which is a bit of a pain to do, so I'll end it here for now.

Well, I can agree that it can be quite overwhelming trying to find the relevant information on the forums. It takes a while getting used to all this, so it would help if you slimmed down the forums and made them more user friendly.

I think a getting started thread is a good idea and I'll go ahead and talk to Tendra about what she thinks is the best way to set that up.

Rather than just a thread, it would probably be worth it to dedicate a whole section to Getting Started. That way we can update frequently with multiple threads as different people sign up for different things and the work that needs to be done changes. Probably within the Staff Only category, just in case anyone needs to post details or images about the proposed comic.

As far as slimming down the forum goes, I'm not sure what you mean FDK. I'll admit that the General Discussion section is very bulky. But I don't really like the idea of deleting unpopular posts. Maybe what we could do is create an Archives section at the bottom of the forum within the General category. I could go through and catalog all of the different posts from the General Discussion section just in case someone needs to look at them later. That way we can keep General Discussion a little more clean (with just hot topics and new posts)

Well, what I mean is that there are tons of topics in several forums that simply have outdated information, and therefore it's harder to find the right information for people that just arrived ("Announcements" forum is one good example.). This happened to me and it is still happening to others. It would help to actually have an archive where those old topics get placed, so you can easier focus on the relevant topics, but still keep the old information so it will not be destroyed.

In addition, I think it would be best if you in fact dedicated a whole forum to just explaining the different aspects of the project and how you in fact work on it. As I can see here, not all people that come to the site to register as a member know what responsibilities a penciller or a thumbnail artist have, for example, so having a dedicated place where you can read up on what needs to be done for each role would be very helpful.

Okay. I can certainly create and start archiving different topics in the Announcements subforum as well as some of the other cluttered sub-forums. That will be my special project for the week.

We actually do have a website which is basically a "how to" website. http://ha6s.wordpress.com/

It might be time to update it a little bit to make it a little more user friendly if people are becoming confused, though.
