Excuses

Say Stinky makes an excuse for no doing his homework and it works. This idea spreads throuhgout the school or just Mr.Simmons class. Honest Arnold dosent use an excuse and winds up the only kid getting in trouble. ( Other excuses by other people are exagerated while Arnolds are real.)

Eventually Mr. Simmons has to get tired of all these excuses. At first he takes them even if he doesn't believe them becuase he feels like this is a way students are expressing themselves through making up these creative stories. But eventually it would get out of hand, and even though Mr. Simmons has the patients of a saint, he will eventually stop taking them because no one (but arnold) is doing their homework. I could totally see when Mr. Simmons stops taking excuses that's when something weird actually does happen to arnolds homework (like abner eats it or maybe an series of almost unbelievable events) and Mr. Simmons doesn't believe him. Poor guy.

"The ball was getting bigger , than it hit me!"
"Then what happened"
"Then I amnesia and forgot about my homework until now"

Guess who's excuse that is.

This definitely seems like something that would happen in the Hey Arnold! world.

Ending this episode would be really hard.
I love the "never-ending" episode, sooo What if Mr.Simmons apologizes to Arnold for not believing him. At the very end something bad and unbelievable happens to his "homefun" (that's what homework is called at my school plus Simmons does alot to make school "fun") and then he goes to tell Simmons.

Stinky does an excuse for not doing his homework. Simmons accepts it because he feels he's expressing himself. Everyone, exept Arnold and/or Pheobe, stop doing their homework and start using excuses. Simmons decides its enough and stops accepting excuses. Arnold goes through a series of unfortunate events and his homework gets ruined, lost, or eaten.
Simmons does not accept his excuses and he gets in trouble. Some things happen. Simmons finds out his excuses are true and apologizes. And ...
(My ending)
His science project gets ruined and ... NOOOO!!!!

Sorry I love the 'To be continued . . .' endings.

Maybe Phoebe on that day ate rotten food in the dining hall or had an allergy to some fruits?

Poor Arnold, always getting stuck in the middle of other people's problems.

Maybe we could add in some excuses that make no sense just for a gag.

"Sorry, Mr. Simmons, I-I couldn't bring in my homework today because... because... because Abner ate my homework!"

"But Sid, he's my pet."

Of course, Mr. Simmons would accept the excuse anyway. (That's not very funny, but I thought I'd just throw an example out there! )

I also think it would be necessary to add that I don't think that Helga would want to do the excuses either (and I guess the same goes for Lila if we decide to mention her much xD). I mean, even if Helga's avoiding being like Olga, she certainly still has the pressure of doing well in school by being in her older sister's shadow, you know? I don't know if adding her (and maybe Lila) to the "good student" list would do much to the plot, anyway. Arnold can just be the one who actually tries to persuade the other students to stop, like he always does with his good-ol' football-headed awesomeness.

Maybe school happens after rest day so guys will have more chances to devise exuces.
Lila may justify she was as a ballerina on a ballet perfomance. *noble music playing on the backs*

And Helga probably just doesn't care about what everyone else is doing and doesn't say anything.

About Phoebe...Helga can say to Simmons that Phoebe is ill.

Helga comes to Mr.Simmons about the illness of Phoebe.
Helga: Mr.Simmons Phoebe will be absent today.
Mr. Simmons: *extremely wondered* Oww! So strange! She has never been absent since then. What has happened to her?
Helga: Three days ago she ate mandarines. That's her certificate.
Mr. Simmons: Oh...stomach illness?
Helga: Dunno. She lookes like a swollen humster...what should it be?

Also Helga was noted for being a good actor so faking depression could work.

Also I think Lila and Helga should not really say much so that the gag could stay on Arnold.

Also, should the whole story take place at school or should Arnold be at home , of course, talking to Pookie ( HA! I remembered it!) or Phil about the excuses?
