Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Hello everyone (if any of you are even still here)!
I have noticed throughout this year that the activity of the project is slowing down and as of lately has come to a complete stop. I don't know about any of you, but even though I have been busy with college I have still come by here and checked the forum and websites (Analysis, HA6s info WordPress, and the comic release site) from time to time. There have been no active threads on this board since June 2012. The last post on The Critical Analysis was December 24, 2010. There has been nothing posted on the comic release website since December 2011. We've still been getting A LOT of visitors to the site though. I have also exported all information, images and posts from the wordpress/comicpress format used for the comic release website just in case the domain drops for now and the site disappears, but we decide we want to bring it back sometime in the future.
The expiration date of the domain http://heyarnold6s.com was October 7, 2012 and I was unable to pay the charge on that date for another year (I am still currently unable to do so). They have given me seven days to pay it despite the issue I am having with payment, but I need to know if activity is going to start up again or if everyone has just given up on the project completely. Please let me know something before October 15.

Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Hi Destiny.
I believe the project is on hiatus for the time being.
There might be a chance of trying to revive it next summer (2013), but currently everyone is busy with other issues. Including myself.

Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
All right. :|At least I finally got a response from someone.... I never even knew about the hiatus because it isn't mentioned anywhere that I can find (I've searched and viewed all threads here that have posted since my last visit here and I do that EVERY time I come by here; if the project is on hiatus there should be an announcement about it), there's nothing mentioning a hiatus on the WordPress information site (as a sticky?), nor was one posted by anyone who has the ability to do so on the ComicPress site (excluding me since I didn't even know about it), and no one ever contacted me directly about it, which would have been nice.
As for now, the site will probably be down until I can revive it. Currently I am chatting with the support techs at 1and1.com through email. Each email I get back is from someone different than the support tech I had previously been chatting with and there's a huge issue between each support tech not communicating with each other about what the support ticket is even about and there's the issue of each of them misunderstanding the actual issue----their support team is usually better than this.

Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Hi Destiny,
My apologies for the late response. Based on the lack of activities in the past couple of months, the HA6S Project is on a hiatus. The hiatus was just never made official.
I really can't say enough how much I appreciate you hosting our HA6S Comic website. Thank you so much for doing that these past couple of years!
I do have a couple of words in terms of reviving the HA6S Project. When I first made this project, I structured it in mind so that it would be easy to restart it if we ever went on a hiatus. That was why I made each writer/artist post their work as they went along, so that other members could pick up easily where an episode was left off. I have a back-up of this forum and a copy of all art works on my desktop if we ever decide to start this project up again.
My HA6S email is still the same: tendra.p@gmail.com. This is the best way to contact me. It is connected to my main email account and I usually check my email every day. As long as the internet still lives, I will always be around to start up this project again. I have been busier in these recent years, so I may need to step down as the project's co-director, but I am always happy to stick around in a supporting role.
I am not too sure how the rest of the HA! community is doing (I am assuming that it is still resilient as it always was). However, I am always open to doing a mass recruiting event so that we can start this project up. If we are interested in that, let me know and we can start a discussion on that
Cheers!
Tendra

Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
I was wondering the same thing myself, but hadn't had a chance to get back over here yet this summer (at least not this month, though I did check the forum twice last month, but didn't have any time to post anything) until your response prompted an email in my inbox that someone had responded to this thread.
I haven't heard anything from anyone though (just like last time when I first posted this thread).... if the project is not still on hiatus then I'll have to get old domain name back again because the stupid people where I had registered the domain at before let it go to someone else while I was in contact with them about a billing and support issue I was having with payment not going through and all they did was email back and forth while I was charged around $30.00 for all of it (the yearly fee for the domain [$9.99] + a late fee) and didn't even get to keep the domain, and they were asking questions I had already answered over and over again, etc. and they never really resolved the issue first issue even after receiving such a high payment thus causing the domain to be officially owned by someone else by the time they stopped sending "support ticket" emails.
However, I just checked and it is available again, so if we're still going to do this project, even if its still on hiatus right now, I need to know ASAP. I can get the website back up and put a project on hiatus note in the side bar or as a maintenance page, whichever is preferred.
No worries about the content, etc. of the comic release site though. I can assure you. I saved all of that before the domain was bought by someone else and the site became no longer accessible through that domain; including a WordPress export of all WP data that can be imported whenever the site is finally back up now or after the hiatus with a fresh install of WordPress/ComicPress.

Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Hi all,
There has been some motion with the HA6S project, but it has all been very underground. To my knowledge, I only have one episode project that is in the works. JerRocks2day has been working on a HA! superhero-spoof comic that is broken down into 5 parts. You can see much of his artwork in the Artwork for Feedback section of the forum. I've been helping out Jer with this project, but we have mainly been communicating through email (again, my email stays the same at tendra.p@gmail.com) rather than the forum. I can email him in regards to whether or not he would like to release his scripts on the forum so that all other HA6S members can view them.
In regards to whether or not the HA6S project is on hiatus... hmm. In terms of releasing comics, yes, we are on hiatus. In terms of whether or not there is work being done, I would say no because Jer has been working very hard and diligently on his episode projects.
Unfortunately, I have been very out of touch with the HA! community, so I'm not really aware of how alive the community is or the level of interest in restarting the HA6S project. As always, I will be alive and kicking around (if you reply to my Wordpress Critical Analysis website or HA6S Wordpress site, I will and have been responding to you). So I'm always ready to restart the project if there is interest in it.
To Jen, I really want to thank you so much for sticking around and helping to keep an eye on the domain. Jer's episode project is quite large so I can't give a good guess as to when we can start releasing pages. So I would say it is up to you as to whether or not we want to re-open up the ha6s domain.
Let me know if there are any questions!
Cheers,
Tendra

Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Since it was only $0.99 to register a .com domain for the first year of owning it (and only $10.99 per year starting June 2014), I went ahead and got the domain again. I've already installed WordPress again under the domain and visitors will get a maintenance page when they visit the domain name right now. I can put the website back up for people to view/read the comic shorts that had already been posted within the next two weeks. I think having the site up where all Hey Arnold! fans (even those who are not part of the project) can see what we've done and posted so far would be a major plus for new and continued enthusiasm and interest in regards to the project.
Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Hey Jen!
Thanks! That's really great of you to do that. Sure, I would open to posting teaser art and the existing gag comics we have We could re-release these pieces of art on a weekly or biweekly basis?

Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Hi I check this site at least once a week and it has bothered me the lack of activity. I was in the skype meeting with a few other guys last summer and they seemed involved but it seems there has definitely been an absence of posting. I guess I'm just saying I'm here and even though I have no "artistic" (drawing, penciling, ect) talent I still hope to pitch ideas for stories as I have been doing and help out in any way I can. Anyway I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still checking on everything often and stuff...
PS Tendra you are awesome

Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Hey Noah! That's awesome to hear that from you. It does seem like you are relatively active in the HA! community. I can try to revamp this forum and the website in the near future. When I first created the HA6S project, I mainly advertised through the LiveJournal HA! community and through Funnybone's Hey Arnold channel, but the former seems to be lacking in terms of activity. Does you (or anyone for that matter) know where the HA! community moved to? Perhaps I can start recruiting those them.
Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Twitter and Tumblr are where I've seen a lot of HA! fandom activity over the last 6 months. If I remember correctly, Hey Arnold! was actually trending on Twitter last month during TeenNick's 90's Are All That! Meme-orial Week, but I could be mistaken as I barely paid attention to what was going on anywhere online while watching the meme-filled '90s episodes (though I somehow missed the HA! episodes and only seen a bunch of CatDog).

Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Ah ok. That's really helpful. I also did notice the FB community is quite active as well.
Re: Domain Name Expiration/Project Activity Slowing
Hi all,
I've been really touched by everyone asking about the status of the HA6S project and I've decided to make an effort to pull this project out of hiatus. Please see the most recent announcement by me.
Cheers,
Tendra
P.S. You all are the best.
