Miscellaneous Scenes
Hey guys,
I know this sub-forum has been mainly used for pitching potential episode ideas, but it can also be used to pitch some scenes that you had in mind but couldn't relate it to a specific episode idea. So I made this sticky thread where we can throw up some small scenes we had in mind that can be used as a supplementary to existing/future episode ideas or small gag comics.
Here's two that I had in mind:
1) Helga and Bob are together outside of the house (i.e. in a store, festival, ect.). Bob wanders off and leaves Helga by herself. When he comes back to find Helga, we get this dialogue:
BOB: Hey, Olga, where'd you go?
HELGA [pissed]: Where you left me, BOB.
2) A small game that I used to (and still) play as a kid was where a bunch of friends and I tried to mouth words to each other and the other would try to figure out what they're trying to say. I would imagine that if Arnold and the gang were bored, they might try to play that to waste time. Something like this:
Arnold is seen mouthing a simple word, such as "Hello" or "Hi".
HAROLD: Was it "Hi"?
ARNOLD: Yes! Okay, now it's your turn.
Harold opens his mouth but doesn't say a specific word. He closes his mouth and turns towards and whispers to Sid/Gerald.
HAROLD [whispering]: Let me get this straight. Is the word "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"?
------
So what scenes did you have in mind?

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
It's odious idea
I imagined Cirly when he tries to steal ribbons of girls for Ronda before he would notice Helga's bow. And one of them push him in Wolfgang (poor Curly) or strikes his chick and Curly's rubbing it...
(regarding to the episode "Helga's bow")

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
About a year ago I was walking from my apartment to the max station which is kind of in the middle of no where. Anyway, at the dead end of the cross street there was this old Volkswagen bus broken down with a bunch of people dressed like pirates outside trying to fix it.
The funny thing was, they were actually speaking with pirate accents and typical pirate phrases (yarr!) even though there was no other traffic and no one else around to hear them (and I'm pretty sure they didn't see me).
That might make a funny scene if anyone wants to use it. I'm kind of a magnet for things like that so I'm sure I'll be remembering some more.

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
I devised a scene like that..
...Helga constantly strikes unfortunate Brainy.
But once she couldn't do that owing to his safety glass. "She turns to him with the face (like that ) (*Brainy waving his hand like utterly obstuse*), becomes imperturbable, takes glasses off and nevertheless hits him."
Please let me know if it was aready in series

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
Anything that would require the kids to don steampunk attire. o_O A dream, maybe (Arnold and Helga both have some pretty wonky ones).

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
Here's a Grandpa scene.
I was looking through an old copy of Sky Mall (pathetic, I know, but I was bored). Anyway, I was noticing that most of the products they sell in Sky Mall are weird, useless, expensive, and/or dumb.
So, how about a scene where Grandpa is looking through a catalog like Sky Mall and he keeps ordering things that are completely useless, but he just "can't live with out".
We could come up with some funny and outrageous products. Like maybe "Individual Churro Cozies".

Or what about Books w/o vowels: 50% off!
uh... or they give out free samples of water from the water fountain?
LOL I don't know. Just thinking.

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
I am curious, what's happened with the chicken who was born in Egg Story episode? Does it (she?) live at Arnold's? I guess we could make a scene or two about Arnold and Helga's "baby".
BTW, where the expression "Just add water!" comes from? I know where it comes from in Russia — from a TV commercial in early 1990s, and where it comes from in the English-speaking world?

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
I don't know for certain, but it probably derives from the powdered food a lot of people had kept in bomb shelters. To eat it, all you had to do was. . . just add water.

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
Yeah, it probably comes from the military use of dehydrated and freeze dried food. Now I always see "Just add water" food in the camping section of stores. Oh, and pancake mixes...a lot of them have "just add water" on the label somewhere.
My guess would be that the little chick does live at Arnold's place. She probably runs around with all the other animals that live there.

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
I like to think that Arnold and Helga have shared guardianship over the chicken, kinda like divorced parents ("She spends this weekend with me, Arnold, period!").
Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
How about "Beatnik Grandma"?
Picture Grandma in the kitchen wearing a beret and banging on bongos with one hand and making espresso with the other.
Then Arnold walks in and she says, "Hey there Daddy-O."
lol, it could be tied into my last idea: Phil buys Pookie an espresso machine from Sky mall.

ooh, maybe we can have the baby chick and Arnold's pig getting along. like the pig and the chick eating out of the same bowl! sleeping togehter .
i think that would be sweet.
also it show's that..Arnold's fav. pet(which he loves)and their baby(arnold and helga) can get along and be friends.

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
Another more rich and popular girl arrives at PS118 and immediately becomes more popular than Rhonda because of her kindness and ability to lend some money to kids that don't have enough money for lunch or bus fair.
as Rhonda tries to get along with the HA gang like the new rich and popular girl, everything all of a sudden backfires.
(kids now asking her for more money etc.)

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
To me, that actually sounds like a really good episode idea, rather than just a misc. scene.18log wrote:as Rhonda tries to get along with the HA gang like the new rich and popular girl, everything all of a sudden backfires. (kids now asking her for more money etc.)

We should have something on how the borders first met.

Re: Miscellaneous Scenes
In high school, we had this thing called "mix it up day" or something, and on that day, each student was assigned a random color and whatever color it was decided which table you sat at. It would be cool to see something like that at PS 118.
