Proposal: HA6S Winter Break Goals

Five months have passed since the start of the project and we all hope that you've had a fantastic year so far! Winter break is approaching and hopefully some of our hands will be freed by then so that we can get some work done! The following is a proposal of what we should get done for the winter break.

These following is a list of people directly involved with these proposed goals. They have been notified by PM/email. If your name has been listed, please take the time to read through it and reply back to this thread to verify if it works with you.

Hi Tendra

It looks like my area of expertise would revolve mostly around the advertising section (unless someone would like me to help them edit something, which I'm certainly available for that at any time too).

I think that this is a reasonable time frame to get the theatrical trailer done and posted. I'm planning on sending a generic personal message to the registered artists letting them know that there is still a pretty significant need for art for the trailer.

As for the tweets: as far as I know, Hellerick is the holder of the twitter account. I know at one time he was hoping to give that responsibility to someone else, but I don't know if anyone took him up on the offer.

So what do we need to do left for the trailer anyway? Just collect artwork? And do you still want some type of animated intro?

I'll put together a to-do list for the trailer, and then I'll post that in the Advertising section of the forum so we don't clutter up this thread with trailer stuff (after lunch).

I completely forgot about the animated intro, but I think it would be really cool to do if possible. It's not completely necessary if it doesn't work out, though.

Yeah, we need someone to make some HA6S tweets (proposing a minimum of 8 ) over the winter break.

Also, Squirreltamer: do you think you can finish that gag comic I sent you for winter break?

I will most certainly try. I love it to bits, I just need time to actually sit down and do it.

I gave SquirrelTamer the password for the Twitter account. So it's now up to her I guess.

Sounds great, Tendra. I'll ink and color the next two pages of the Pilot episode.
And about the animated intro.. I worked with Flash before, and I know how to animate little things.. like a burning candle, or blinking eyes or hair moving in the wind.. I think something like that would be cool to use in the logo/banner.
And for the real intro, I can animate text, you know, words floating by and changing shape..

I tried a real animation once That is SO much work..
First I tried one on my computer (with Flash, I drew the frames one by one)

It took me an entire day, and I worked very fast and rough.. the result is horrible >< It would take weeks to make a really good 10-second animation

Well, right now the animation isn't really our top priority, so I'm not too worried about it. If we really wanted to have one, then I guess we could start working on it now and have it ready by Summer lol.

It would be great to have animated text, though. If you'd like to help us out with that, Annemiek, I could put you down as another editor (if you have time...I wouldn't want you to be too busy).

Sure, I'll help with the animated text I really need to practice more with Flash anyway, might as well practice while doing something useful XD

Dpshrineinclosetgirl is our writer, and is working on a few scripts. Once we have a script ready, then we'll start asking for some artwork and we can start editing everything together and adding the animated text, special effects, etc.

Sorry I've not been around much. Being a senior in University takes up quite a bit of time (and I have to go for an extra year as a senior), but if someone could maybe send me a little tweet at Twitter (http://twitter.com/DestineyJen -- which reminds me, I need to edit my signature here and fix my contact details) that there's announcement news up here or someone is looking for editing/writing/etc. help with a comic idea then I could probably keep up with it better 'cause I don't spend very much time at forums anymore. It makes me procrastinate far too much... I get extremely engrossed in reading every single possible post at a forum and because of this I could start reading posts at a forum early in the day and I would still be reading posts at 8:00 AM the next morning (yeah, I've done that before... spent two days without sleep). Not that I can't still do the forum mod job, I'm glad to help -- it's easy to spot posts that shouldn't be here without having to read every single post in the forum.

And I'm sorry I noticed this announcement so late. I've spent most of my time studying, doing homework, watching television {to keep up with my favorite shows newest episodes}, and working on my websites.

My semester didn't end until Monday of this week and I've been spending time with family and working on my websites ever since the semester ended, but I'm available to help with anything here at just about any time now (until January 14th when classes start back again, but I might be able to still work on things associated with this as well, just let me know/ask me and I'll let you know) -- I just need to know what's going on when something is being focused on for the comic projects...

Every time I've logged in here in the past I choose the option to "Log me in automatically at each visit" because it would make things so much quicker, but for some reason it never does. I always have to choose it again and again every time I log in.

Also, Alyssa (SquirrelTamer), I also have the password to the HA6S Twitter since Hellerick sent it to me as well a few months ago (and I didn't change the e-mail for it to my own e-mail like he suggested because I felt it would be best if it were a co-account {and possibly even as a group account} so that if one person is too busy the other person/another person in the group can tweet the latest news about the project).

I mention the HA6S Twitter account on my own Twitter account every now and then and I've been advertising it through my own Twitter account trying to get people to follow it (especially on Follow Fridays if I'm at Twitter; I would like to think that that is part of the reason it now has 85 followers).

I also try to mention the HA6S Twitter account and the HA6S project site/forum anytime I mention Hey Arnold somewhere. This doesn't always come up, but I try to find a way to do so just to advertise.

Do you guys still need an editor for anything? I wanted to help with previous projects by being an editor... but someone would usually get to it before me and I would be far too busy around that time to do it anyway... so I never offered back then when the want ads were posted (because even though I would come around the forum and finally notice the want ads, someone else would have already offered to be an editor for someone by then).

Tendra: We can discuss the outline (and create the outline) for what needs to be on the official site any time you're ready to do so. If anyone else is going to have a part in working on the official site, I think they should be part of the discussion as well. Also, I might be able to actually buy a domain for it instead of a subdomain if everyone thinks we should. We can discuss that as well.

That's fine if you're more comfortable with tweets. I'll make a Twitter account and send you tweets whenever I make new announcements.

The "Log me in automatically" thing does sometimes reset if you don't visit the forums in a long time, but I'm not sure if that's your case.

As for the website we'll be making, I'll make a thread discussing basic page layout and the domain vs. sub-domain thing sometime today or tomorrow.
