Character Sketches

Just finished some sketches of Brainy, Rhonda, Lorenzo, Grandpa and Dino Spumoni.

Brainy, Helga, Lorenzo, and Phil are PERFECT! Great job! Rhonda's face is a liiiiittle too round in the colored drawing-- Rhonda's head is more horizontal oval-shaped than circular. As for Dino, you got the expression perfect! But the chin is a little off. Try checking out some still reference screenshots, like the one on the Hey Arnold Wiki-- there's a pretty good one there!

I'm working on a full-page (9"x12") Dino poster - I love music like that (though of course that means Jim Lang - he's awesome). Also, a better drawing of Arnold's room.

I only wanted to draw Rhonda twice (even though she's cute when she's not stuck-up)... I needed to go to bed, and her face is rather "open" - there's very little to make visual references from, if you know what I mean, so it's easy to draw everything completely correct, but in the wrong spot...

I'm going to start inking everything now - I think this looks A LOT better.

So... more drawings. All inked this time - I (almost) can't believe how much this cleans up the drawings. If I just watercolored it, they would look just like the originals.

Just so you know... I can't really draw expressions that well I have to redraw what I see.

I also haven't tried anything other than a 3/4 view of any of the characters (except Arnold). I should, though. As I said on DA, any specific ideas for a Eugene/Sheena poster a welcome.

Oh... I need to get to work on that "think different" poster, Mega.

That's okay! You'll get better. Just start studying what the characters look like when they're happy, sad, mad, etc.! You'll start to notice patterns in the ways their eyes narrow, their mouths stretch, stuff like that!

Haha, don't worry about it. Take as much time as you need! And no one's ever nicknamed me that before, LOL.

Which is why most of these drawing don't show their hands - that and I'm lazy.

these are AMAZING...im horrible at drawing and anything like that these drawings/sketches what ever you call them their REALLY good!
