Wolfgang Held Back
How about an episode where Wolfgang gets sent back to the 5th grade. The 6th graders stop hanging out with him and he is force to be in the same class as Arnold and his friends. Principal Wartz tells him that he will be allowed to return to the 6th grade if his grades improve.
On Wolfgang’s next big test which could be his ticket back to the 6th grade. He decides to try and take the easy way out by cheating. He makes Helga tell him who the smartest kid in class is. Helga tells Wolfgang that the smartest kid is Stinky.
Wolfgang’s test comes out so bad that Principal Wartz threatens to keep him in the 5th grade for the remainder of the year. Mr. Simmons convinces Wartz to give Wolfgang one last chance to return to the 6th grade. Either he passes his next big test or he will stay in the 5th grade.
Even a tough guy like Wolfgang would get desperate at this point. With no other choice, he accepts the help offered by Arnold who over heard his situation.
There could be a teamwork morale here. The test that Wolfgang has to take covers everything in the 5th grade which turns out to be a lot. Arnold realizes that he can’t do this alone, so he gets the rest of the class to help get Wolfgang ready for his big test. Arnold could help him with math, Helga could help him with English, Gerald could help him with history (since he knows so many urban legends), and Sid, Stinky and Harold try to help him with science (for laughs). Through this he learns about teamwork.
When Wolfgang wants to play baseball, the 6th graders don’t allow him on their team, so he joins the 5th graders. When they play against the 6th graders, they lose because Wolfgang, being a one man show, doesn’t use teamwork. After learning the importance of teamwork from studying by the 5th graders, he puts it into good use on the field while waiting for the results of his big test.
Wolfgang passes with an A and returns to the 6th grade. He reclaims his spot of “gang leader” and things go back to the way they were for the most part.
One possible change that could occur could be Wolfgang’s game plan. With him leading the 6th grade team again, they start winning a lot more games using teamwork.
Wolfgang's character does not change much during this time. He still pick on all the others.
Helga: Thanks a lot football head! Now we lose almost every game we play.
Arnold: It’s okay Helga. We did the right thing and that’s all that matters.
What do you guys think. Huh, now I don't remember anything about what I just wrote...weird...

Re: Wolfgang Held Back
Lol yeah i like the idea of Wolfgang asking Helga who the smartest kid is and pointing at Stinky
Overall this sounds like a good episode
judging from the fact that Helga or even Harold would even help Wolfgang, we can just say just Arnold convinces everyone to help Wolfgang.
(or maybe Simmons can announce like a teamwork project to help Wolfgang get back to 6th grade?)

Re: Wolfgang Held Back
How about Wolfgang being rather content with remaining in the fifth grade? He could be bullying Arnold and his friends on daily basis, bossing them around etc., and it would be the fifth graders who would be willing to help him (including cheating methods) to return to the sixth grade, but not himself?
Re: Wolfgang Held Back
That's a good idea. But what if he's content with it at first, but then his friends start treating him differently, so he changes his mind.

Re: Wolfgang Held Back
I think that he would probably act like he was content or like he just doesn't care about the whole situation at first, but after a conversation with Arnold, he would probably admit that he really wants to be back in the 6th grade.
Re: Wolfgang Held Back
There's another great idea. But what about the whole wolfgang's friends treating him differently? Is that a good isea? Just wondering.

Re: Wolfgang Held Back
I just like the idea that when he's taking the test, Wolfgang does not care about it, but everyone around tries to show him the correct answers, and he's annoyed about it.
Re: Wolfgang Held Back
Do you mean that Wolfgang's annoyed by the 5th graders because their trying to get him out of the class and Wolfgang doesn't want to? Or is Wolfgang actually trying, but is upset that he can't do it himself? I'm a little confused.

Re: Wolfgang Held Back
My idea is that Wolfgang does not care about what grade he is in; he does not like to worry about anything but his personal enjoyment — while his new classmates are desperate and are fixed on helping him / getting rid of him. He wants to do what he likes (mischiefs, bullying etc.), he's fed up with seeing everywhere Arnold and his friends eager to help him, and forcing him to care about school.
Wolfgang tries to bully them, but it backfires: it makes the kids to want him to go to the next grade even more. So he tries to run away from them etc.

Re: Wolfgang Held Back
That sounds good. So Wolfgang enjoys being back in the 5th grade at first because picking on the 5th grades helps him pass the time, but when they start offering to help Wolfgang, picking on them starts to lose its fun. Wolfgang gets so fed up of people trying to help him that he finally accepts their offer to get out of their class. Am I on the right track?

Re: Wolfgang Held Back
Wolfgang gives up when he understands that the fifth graders won't stop bugging him until he finally accepts their help.
Re: Wolfgang Held Back
Alright, good idea.
